About

Dr. Maryam Mustafa holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Technical University of Braunschweig in Germany(2015) . She also holds a Masters of Engineering degree from Cornell Univeristy, USA(2008) and a Bsc(Hons) from LUMS(2005). She is a Fulbright Scholar. Her research is multidisciplinary in nature with a focus on human-computer interaction and perceptual issues within computer graphics. She has published at top tier conferences and journals like CHI, TAP and CVMP and was awarded the ckc Dissertationspreis for her PhD work. Her work has used novel modalities like an Electroencephalograph (EEG) to explore the neural correlates relating to perceptual quality of rendered sequences, the aetheical value of retouched images and the perception of highly realistic rendered human characters. Her recent research also focuses on the perception of avatars within a VR environment.
